DAVIS HAMPTON

BIO

Davis Hampton is the principal bass clarinetist in the United States Army Band, Pershing's Own. He has performed on clarinet and bass clarinet with many professional ensembles in the Pacific Northwest and the Bay Area, including the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, Auburn Symphony Orchestra, and San Francisco Contemporary Music Players. Mr. Hampton has performed alongside players from the Seattle and San Francisco Symphonies, and has shared programs with world renowned chamber ensembles such as the Kronos Quartet. He has attended the Eastern Music Festival, Madeline Island Clamber Music Festival, and is a 2017 University of Puget Sound Concerto Competition winner. 

As a teacher Mr. Hampton has served as the assistant conductor for the University of Puget Sound Concert Band, clarinet coach for the Puget Sound Youth Wind Ensemble, clarinet instructor in Tacoma and San Francisco public schools, and a private clarinet instructor in the Bay Area

Davis received a bachelor of music in clarinet from the University of Puget Sound as a student of Jennifer Nelson. He Received a master of music in clarinet as well as a professional studies diploma in bass clarinet from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a student of Jerome Simas and Jeff Anderle.
